Meet some of our young and talented Kumul Cubers!
Zac, 19 years, is one of our new members. Zac is currently sitting at an unofficial PB of 11 seconds for the 3x3x3 cube, and is practicing hard to reach that sub 10s level. Zac is a regular competitor at WCA sanctioned events, always representing the Black, Red and Gold with pride. Zac is always looking to improve on his personal best times, and even have a crack at the PNG national records.
Michael, 17 years, was the winner of the Inaugural "Sunset Speedcubing Competition", held in Vanimo, Sandaun Province, PNG, in January 2020. Michael is currently looking forward to compete in the first Kumul Cubers WCA sanctioned event in Port Moresby, and have a crack at the National record.
Meet Joshy, at 15 years old he holds 10 National Record singles and 8 National Record averages for PNG. His single fastest solve for the 3x3 cube is 9.81s. Joshy started cubing in 2018 at age 9 and continues to improve at each competition. He loves to mentor and learn from other cubers he meets. He is excited to know that there are many more people joining our Kumul Cuber family who are clocking super fast times.
Caleb, 13 years old, has been cubing since 2018, and has the rare honour of being the first Papua New Guinean to register an official WCA recognised time in a WCA sanctioned event - Brisbane Winter 2018. Caleb currently has a comp PR of 14.42 seconds for the 3x3x3 and has held the PNG National Record (NR) for the pyraminx since January 2021 when he started competing in the event. His current single fastest time for pyraminx is 5.67 seconds.

He is the youngest official member of the Kumul Cubers family and competed in his first competition Brisbane Is Back On 2021 where he set his first official time of 50.20 seconds. Izzy clocked his current personal best time in July this year with a 26.81s solve. He is the smallest but loudest Kumul Cuber so far! :)
Say Hi to Simon, our newest Kumul Cuber.
At 18 years, Simon lives in Port Moresby, and is also a passionate cuber, looking to improve his cubing, and get ready for the first Official Kumul Cubers Competition in Port Moresby, PNG. Simon also plans to one day represent PNG at an Australian Speedcubing Competition when travel restrictions are lifted.
Meet Winston Chin, our "Honorary Kumul Cuber" member. Winston is 19 years, is a former Lae resident, and currently lives with his family in Brisbane. He currently has a PB of 6sec in the 3x3x3 and an Official WCA time of 11.45s. Winston is a huge inspiration to all Kumul Cubers who take part in the Official WCA Comps.
Alois is the first Papua New Guinean to compete in the 5x5 event at an official WCA competition. His personal best time is 5:05.00 (5 minutes, 5 seconds). We are all cheering him on as he looks to improve this time at his next competition. Alois is 17 years old and is a wonderful role model for all the Kumul Cubers not just as a cuber.
Ezekiel aka Zeke currently holds the pyraminx National Record (NR) average of 9.13 seconds. His first competition was Brisbane Summer 2023. Zeke is a very fun person that always brings lot of energy to the group.
